I lived in Denmark many years ago and have always heard about Solvang and finally had the opportunity to visit in 2011. The Centennial year. It is like I went back to Denmark. It was so Sunny and beautiful. I met such wonderful people everywhere I went. My last evening at dinner I even met the Mayor leaving my restaurant.

Road Triping USA. I did a bit of exploring and had a nice time meeting new people. There have been so many fires in Texas I was delayed by a few hours headed to Shrevport LA because the Interstate had to be closed down due to the wildfires. I felt like I had been to the LSU game as most cars that passed me were returning home and had signs all over their vehicles.

Remembrance 9/11 2011

All weekend I have thought of life ten years ago. It has really been 10 years. I will always remember and never forget where I was and all that happened that day. I took my 14 year old nephew to a bronze Statue that was created to honor and pay tribute to all those working on the flights that lost their lives. It was an artist from salt lake that created this and it now sits north of the Dallas Ft Worth Airport in Grapevine Texas to honor the pilots and flight attendants.

I met a most wonderful lady here in Colleyville Texas. She is retired and planned an adventure with an old and dear friend to the the Oregon Coast for the month of August so I have been house sitting and taking care of her two cats Nicholas and Nell. It has been 40 days with tempatures over 100 so I have had to water each night to try to keep some life alive in the yard.

I walk everyday and decided to snap some pictures of the wild flowers. The next day I picked just a handful to dry so I can make a book mark. I placed them in a big book to dry and the next day on my walk they had mowed down everything in the empty lots and fields. They are no more. I am so glad I took the pictures.

Go Virtual Go Mobile I have started my virtual office in Dallas Texas. I made my long drive from Northern Virginia to Texas in two days. I had never driven in the south of the Country so it was a new experience. Can I just say how much I am enjoying technology so family and friends can stay in touch as one drives along. I am realizing how lucky I am to be employed but also choose the location I get to work from going forward. Mobility is becoming the future. It will be interesting to see how smart phones change the landscape of everyday life for most of us in the next couple of years. Why Texas ? Family. The opportunity to reconnect and the climate is warm, a plus for me. It is so nice to wake up, get ready and walk into my office. I don't have an hour commute each way each day. Yeah !! I walk every day now at lunch time and finish with time to pursue my personal interests in the evenings. More details to come...............

Wow it is now 2011. I was able to visit Budapest. One side of the Danube is Buda and one side is Pest. It was an adventure to meet the people, learn of the culture and taste the food. Paprika rules !!
